Statement
A collaboration with Johnathan Cook, historic Chinese scrolls are converted to ASCII art and printed using a receipt printer. The art is streamed from a text file to the receipt printer through USB connection using an Arduino.Software
A tiny software package called scrollprint was created for this project. Code for both the Arduino and the printer program can be found here:https://github.com/seaweedfactory/scrollprint
A compiled version of the Java interface is also available from the same location.

This tool was used for a show in collaboration with Johnathan Cook at the Akureyri Art Museum in Akureyri, Iceland.
The receipts were floated in Plexiglas and wooden frames. The show was on display from January to February in 2016.
